Suggested Wording for Will Clause

(A) UNDESIGNATED – SPECIFIC BEQUEST:

You donate a specific dollar amount or a specific percentage of your estate.

“I give the sum of $ _________, (or leave ____% of the residue of my estate) to Richmond Hospital Foundation, registered charity #11911 8883 RR0001 to be used for the area of greatest need.”

(B) DESIGNATE YOUR GIFT:

If you are interested in supporting a specific area of the hospital, you may designate your gift to a specific area of care at Richmond Hospital. Since no one can anticipate the changes and developments that may occur in the future, we recommend that you include a “power to vary” clause to ensure your gift will deliver maximum value to Richmond’s health care. Suggested wording to designate your gift is as follows:

“I give the sum of $ _________, (or leave ____% of the residue of my estate) to Richmond Hospital Foundation, registered charity #11911 8883 RR0001 to be used specifically for the purposes of the _____________, however, that if the circumstances make the specified use of this bequest impractical or undesirable, the Board of Directors is authorized to apply the bequest to other purposes which conform as much as possible to the spirit and intent of this bequest.”
